On behalf of Comhairle Laighean, we look forward to welcoming you to the National Sports Campus this weekend to the highlight of the Leinster calendar year, Oireachtas Rince Laighean 2022.

Thank you to all families for their prompt and efficient use of the entry process. Additional entries where a genuine late entry has occurred will be accepted on the day but at a surcharge of 1 euro per dance up to a maximum of 5 euro per dancer.

Numbers:
We ask all parents to print their numbers at home that they will receive through the entrytable.ie process. Pins will be available at the venue.

Venue:
We are hosting the event at the National Indoor Arena which is located at the National Sports Campus. It is part of the same grounds as the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown.

Please see the venue link:

https://www.nationalsportscampus.ie/national-indoor-arena

Upon entering the grounds you will see the Aquatic Centre on your right, continue to the left for at least 500 metres and you will see a huge sports arena in front of you. Doors open 45 minutes prior to the commencement of competitions on both days (8.15am). There is ample parking on site.

Onsite facilities:
There is a restaurant/coffee shop onsite that can be utilised during the weekend by all dancing families. The Blanchardstown Centre is also a 5 minute drive away for anyone wanting a more substantial restaurant. Please note that hot drinks and food are not allowed in the Arena. This will be strictly adhered to. The National Indoor Arena is a modern state of the art facility and we need to respect their rules and their property. Please encourage your dancing families to utilise all the bins onsite. Rubbish bags will be distributed to all families and teachers at the admission desk. Please encourage them to be used. I think we can all agree that the rubbish scenario at recent feiseanna worldwide has been on the decline so we want to ensure that this weekend we are all being proactive.

Teacher’s Hospitality:
Please note that the teacher’s room on the first floor will be self service and we ask that you leave the room as you find it. There will be tea/coffee for teachers.

Awards/Running of stages:
We are asking if teachers could donate some time during the day to help out with running stages or to help during awards. Thank you in advance for helping out and ensuring our grades children have the best experience possible.

Vendors:
We are pleased to offer the services of Idance Irish who will be our vendor for all your Irish dancing needs this weekend.

Recording of dancers:
We are aware that this weekend will be a first time experience for many parents. We would be grateful if you could re-iterate the CLRG rule to your parents regarding the recording of dancing. This is strictly enforced by CLRG. No recording of dancers is allowed. Equally photography of dancers without permission is also not permitted.

Timetable:
I am attaching the final timetable for your convenience. Final timetable – Grades – May 2022

Finally, I would like to wish each and everyone of you and your schools the very best of luck at this weekend’s Oireachtas. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions before or at the weekend.

Is mise, le meas,

Marcus Maloney.
